I visited Plato's closet for the first time over the weekend and I will NEVER go back. It was one of the worst shopping experiences I've ever had. To start, the store was very dusty and disorganized, but for what's technically a thrift store, I wasn't too surprised. However, the check out process is what made my experience so bad. I only had four items yet when they read me my total, I was shocked. I had been adding up my items as I was picking them out and knew there was no way that my total should be over a hundred dollars. When I asked the lady if something was maybe scanned twice, she got really ugly and short with me. I guess me questioning her upset her? I don't know, but she did, in fact, overcharge me by thirty-two dollars. Then she asked for my name (I don't know why I needed to give my name, but whatever), so I asked if the name needed to match the one on the card (I was using my boyfriend's). Instead of answering my simple question, she called the manager over and said, "I can't deal with her." Like? I was in no way shape or form being rude. But the manager comes over and she also immediately acts like I'm being a problem; she even rolled her eyes at me! Needless to say, I was genuinely confused and super uncomfortable. I work customer service myself so I go out of my way to be kind to my fellow service workers. I also don't like confrontation, so after feeling like I was doing nothing but bother them, I clammed up. I just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible.

I truly love thrifting, but I will forever avoid this place like the plague. A couple of my friends and coworkers have also experienced the same thing, and judging from the other reviews, this is a common occurrence.

Would give 0 stars if I could. I just drove over twenty minutes to bring a bag up only to be greeted with a look of irritation and be turned away. The manager said they met their quota and weren’t taking any more bags, yet never in my twelve years of going to any Plato’s Closets have I ever been turned away from dropping off a bag. She didn’t even give me the option to leave it with them for tomorrow’s “new quota”. Instead, I was greeted as if I was an inconvenience and turned away without an option to leave the bags for tomorrow. I am very disappointed because I have always had good experiences at this particular Plato’s, but this time will be my last time coming here especially when you feel as if you aren’t welcome.

Place is dusty as hell, no good clothes. Only thing that was nice was the cute asian girl at the cashier. She was so sweet and made my day. But the rest of the staff were horrible to me, not sure if I would ever go back

This place is far more overpriced than any other Plato's I've been to. Even in cities such as Lexington KY this one is just atrocious and grossly overpriced. Very worn out Nikes for $90 clothes hugely overpriced as well. It's quite weird how this place runs because there's no way with what they are holding onto that there would be any reason to pay their high asking prices for used clothing hitting MSRP brand new. Not sure if if that's corporate or local pricing or making that up but I know other places have not been this stringent on their pricing. Not sure why I'm giving it a 2/5 maybe cleanliness?

They text out coupons but when you get to the register after shopping for hours only to find out they will not honor that coupon that they themselves sent out & won't accept. That's a definition of bad business !!!

I’ve never left a bad review on anything. But I went out of my way to go to Plato’s, dropped off a big bag of men’s clothes (including jeans I’ve never worn). They accepted none of it, with a sign that says they want denim. On top of this, they were incredibly rude (except Julian). The queue was 2+ hours, I got a text after 30 minutes my clothes were ready. I doubt they even looked in the bag. Save yourself a trip here and drive to Hattiesburg Plato’s, I’ll chip in for gas.

I’m never one to leave a bad review but this place is terrible. Not only do they charge you for things you didn’t buy, they are also very rude to you when you try to see how you can fix the problem. It was my first time and last time I will ever go there. It’s not even worth your time and money going there.
